As a young boy in school, Bill was interested in bird watching, with a full page article written about him in one of the local newspapers. With his keen eye, his attention grew into a lifelong hobby of photography. He became one of the members of an early photography club in Allegan, Michigan, often winning awards.
Boxes of slides from his vacation trips filled a closet. Happy to share the experience with anyone willing to take the time to sit with him.
Often entering in the County Fair, Bill's photographs often placed and proudly hung around his ham shack. Bill enjoyed combining his hobbies of photography and ham radio together. Taking photographs of the places he had been and the people he had met on his ham radio trips. These photos were often turned into QSL cards for any one of the events he may have operated.
